I like this practice, it take reasonably proficient squad to set up, but then works everybody hard.
Here is mine I use this a lot to teach players possession but also the art of defending as a team i.e. of you play the game with 6 v 6 or more. More then one defender will have to go in to win the ball back for their team so it would be wise for the defenders to force the ball towards their own team and not away from their team so the defenders would first run through the area of the players with the ball to then try to force and win the ball closer to their own team.
what is the best drill to help defenders get the ball out on a 16?
try this one.
Bram thats my favourite drill
Totally agree with Bram.
So good for honing passing and receiving skills, but also helps introduce/improve Attacking outletting principles. Helps teach your full backs to read the press and to play with eyes up.
I tend to stick my CH in the middle of the front three as it helps them practice their transferring skills.
If done at match pace it can be hard work so really good for fitness too!
All in all a great practice for pre-season!!!
What you say: I really appreciate the Hockey Coaching on Sportplan. The senior girls really enjoy the variety of exercises. |
